11.Be sure to include return insurance and ship to address on top of submission form. Send to the attention of 'Beckett Grading Services. What is the Beckett Grading form used for?
The Beckett Grading form is used by collectors to submit cards for grading and authentication. It allows collectors to provide essential information about each card, including its quantity, year, set name, and declared value. This form is crucial for ensuring that the grading process runs smoothly and that each card is properly evaluated based on Beckett's standards.
How do I fill out the Beckett Grading form?
To fill out the Beckett Grading form, start by printing your name and account number in the designated area. List all cards you are submitting, including details such as the quantity, year of issue, set name, card number, player name, and declared value. Make sure to select your desired grading service level and include payment information. If you have more cards than can fit on the form, you may use additional sheets. Remember to sign the form and indicate your return shipping method.
What happens if my cards are deemed altered?
If your cards are found to be altered, they will not receive a numeric grade. Instead, they will be sealed and authenticated in a standard Beckett Authentic/Altered case. This process ensures that the integrity of the cards is maintained while providing collectors with a reliable certification of authenticity.
What payment methods are accepted for grading services?
Beckett Grading Services accepts various payment methods, including personal checks, money orders, and credit cards. It is important to note that cash should not be sent with your submission. All payments must be made in U.S. funds, and returned checks will incur a fee of $30.00.
How do I calculate the total cost for grading my cards?
To calculate the total cost, first determine the number of cards you are submitting and the grading fee per card. Multiply these two figures for a subtotal. Then, add any additional fees for return insurance, postage, and applicable sales tax if you are a Texas resident. The final total will be the sum of all these components.
Can I submit oversized cards for grading?
Yes, Beckett Grading Services accepts oversized cards, but additional fees apply. Cards larger than 3x5 inches will incur a surcharge of $8 for U.S. residents and $12 for international customers. Make sure to indicate the size of your cards on the submission form to ensure proper handling and pricing.
What should I do if I want to track my submission?
To track your submission, it is advisable to include insurance and a tracking method on your submission form. Beckett recommends using FedEx or UPS for shipping, as they provide tracking options. Ensure that you keep a copy of your shipping receipt and tracking number for your records. This way, you can monitor the status of your package during transit.
How long does the grading process take?
The turnaround time for grading can vary based on the service level selected. Beckett provides estimates for processing times, which typically range from a few business days to several weeks. For the most accurate information, it is best to check the Beckett website for updates on turnaround times and any potential delays.
When filling out the Beckett Grading form, individuals often make several common mistakes that can delay processing or lead to unexpected issues. One frequent error is failing to provide complete contact information. This includes not listing a phone number or email address, which can hinder communication regarding the submission.
Another mistake involves incorrect payment methods. Submitting cash is not permitted, yet some individuals still attempt to do so. Instead, checks or credit cards should be used, ensuring that all necessary payment details are included. Omitting the expiration date or security code can also result in payment processing issues.
People sometimes neglect to check the appropriate grading service level. The form requires a selection of only one grading level, but multiple selections can create confusion. It is important to follow this instruction closely to avoid delays in grading.
Additionally, errors in listing card details are common. Submitting incomplete information, such as missing the year of issue or the card number, can lead to processing delays. Each card should be clearly identified with all required information to ensure accurate grading.
Some individuals fail to check the "Authentic" boxes correctly. This can result in cards being graded when the submitter intended only for authentication. Understanding the implications of each option is essential for accurate processing.
Another oversight occurs when individuals do not calculate the total payment correctly. The form requires the total to be calculated by multiplying the number of cards by the grading fee per card. Mistakes in this calculation can lead to insufficient payment, delaying the grading process.
People also often forget to include return shipping details. Not specifying the desired return shipping method can lead to default shipping options being used, which may not align with the submitter's preferences. Clear instructions on shipping methods should be provided to avoid misunderstandings.
Finally, some individuals overlook the requirement for insurance on their submissions. While it may seem optional, not including insurance can result in significant losses if cards are damaged or lost during transit. It is advisable to assess the value of the cards and include appropriate insurance to protect against potential issues.

When filling out the Beckett Grading form, there are several important practices to keep in mind. Here is a list of things you should and shouldn't do:
Filling out the Beckett Grading form requires careful attention to detail. Ensure all fields are accurately completed to avoid delays in processing.
Include your name and contact information at the top of the form. If you have an account number, write it in the designated area. If not, one will be assigned upon receipt of your order.
List each card you are submitting, including the year, set name, card number, player name, and declared value. This information is crucial for proper grading and processing.
Choose the grading service level carefully. You can select only one service level per submission form, so make sure it aligns with your needs.
Payment must accompany your submission. Calculate the total cost by multiplying the number of cards by the grading fee, and include any additional fees for oversized items or insurance.
Ensure you check the appropriate boxes for grading options. If you want your cards graded, do not check the “Authentic” only option, as this will prevent them from receiving a numeric grade.
Shipping is a critical aspect of the process. Clearly indicate your preferred shipping method on the form and consider adding insurance for valuable cards to protect against loss or damage during transit.
